The Type of Paint Matters

Have you ever had something inside or outside your home painted and then a year later the paint is starting to chip? If so, you are definitely not alone. Many of my clients have come to me with issues concerning a previous paint job performed either themselves or by another contractor. More often than not, the contractor or homeowner used the wrong type of paint. Did you know that the type of paint you use actually matters?

For example, one person contacted me with a question in regards to the paint coming off their aluminum garage door.  The paint job was about a year old so the homeowner was concerned about the quick deterioration (understandably so). Apparently, the aluminum door was painted with an oil-based paint, which does not expand. Instead, a premium exterior acrylic latex paint would have been a much better fit for the type of material (in this case, aluminum). As demonstrated in the example above, the type of paint you use matters. Are you painting the interior or exterior of your home or commercial property? If so, what type of materials will you be painting and what is the best type of paint for the job? These are the questions that an experienced painter can answer, helping you to obtain a high-quality paint job that lasts.

At the end of the day hiring a skilled contractor with quality experience with utilizing different types of paints and applying the paint to a variety of surfaces is priceless. There is nothing worse than paying someone (or spending the time) to paint your home for the paint to start to crack within a year.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a high-quality paint job that lasts then call upon a painter you can trust—call Ron’s Painting.
